For our final production of 2022, and to highlight the end of our 5th season of producing professional musical theatre, we explore the journey of two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love. Tracing a five-year relationship between Jamie Wellerstein, a rising novelist, and Cathy Hiatt, a struggling actress, the show uses an unconventional form of storytelling. Jamie's viewpoint is told in chronological order (starting just after the couple has first met), but Cathy's story is told backward when at the top of the show she sings about the end of her marriage. In addition, the characters do not directly interact and only meet once, at their wedding, which happens in the middle of the show. This December you won't want to miss an emotionally powerful and intimate musical composed by Jason Robert Brown called, The Last Five Years.
